Good morning my good people! Here we are at the start of a new week. I hope everyone had a safe weekend, but it’s back to the grind today. Honestly, I don’t have a ton to say this morning, but I do have something that I’ve been struggling with and I figure I can help other people in similar situations.
As a woman of many hats, I am usually SUPER busy. Juggling writing and making clothes and doing art and keeping up with the home and everything in between, it is so normal for me to allow myself to be overwhelmed with my responsibilities and start putting stuff off until tomorrow. I am a professional, about everything I do; unfortunately, that includes procrastination. I would love to think that I don’t lack the discipline necessary to overcome my tendencies, but I do. I also falter with my time management skills and putting too much on my plate.
I am a person that wants to do everything and learn everything and try everything and I always seem to want to do it all at the same time. With the best of intentions, I tend to bite off more than I can chew. I know I’m not the only person that struggles with it. There’s just something in me that always wants to be doing something; I always want to be busy, even if busy for that moment is just watching a movie or cuddling with my husband. My mind is always so active that I feel like I have to be physically occupied as well, but often enough, it can be overwhelming trying to keep up with my over stimulated mind.
This is not at all an attempt to discourage people with over stimulated minds, but I am learning how to deal with mine. I can definitely say that journaling helps a lot, being able to write everything down and see it on paper. Truthfully, sometimes my daily journals just include a to do list; things that I absolutely NEED to do that day. Sometimes my journals contain a whole bunch of gibberish, just words running through my head that don’t mean a whole lot to me. I have other outlets, like reading and keeping stuff in my calendar and even just talking to my husband when things get to being too much.
I know this may not seem like a whole lot of motivation for this week, but to all those out there like me. The creators and learners and explorers of life and all it has to offer, those of us with a similar mind, a frantic mind, I just want to encourage you to find what gives you some peace of mind. Find something that allows you to slow down and take a step back. I understand the frustration of feeling constantly overwhelmed from your own thoughts. So this week, try something differently; make a list, take a walk, do some yoga, practice some mindfulness, and just take a deep breath. This week, take control of your pace and have peace.
Until next week, have a great one! Let me know what methods work for you! You can leave your questions and comments on this post or on my Instagran or Facebook. Love you all and wishing each of you light, love, and prosperity through this week.
