Smell The Roses

Good morning my beautiful readers. This morning is a chance to start fresh. Last week there were so many issues I was having and I was so busy I just needed a break. But I’m back now; back and I’m better. It seems like it’s been so long since we’ve had Monday Morning Motivation and I don’t have a whole lot to say, but I have just enough to get us through the week.

I have been busy out of my mind recently. My schedule is constantly changing, there’s always something I need to do or somewhere I need to be. Life feels like it’s been going 100 miles per minute for me. In the time that I took off last week, I barely had time to do what I really wanted and needed. Sometimes I can get so caught up in everything going on that I forget I have control. I forget that I can choose to slow down and catch my breath and take a break.

We all need a break from time to time. A chance to just sit and relax without the guilt of procrastination is really such an important thing. I read an article once that said if you stop and smell the roses (or plants/flowers) everyday, it increases your life span and overall daily mood and health. See we’re made to appreciate the things around us, our bodies thrive on it. Taking all the stressors out of life is impossible, but you can adjust the way that you let it affect you. So in this season of giving and receiving, remember to stop and smell the roses, or take a long hot shower, or sit on the sofa and watch a movie wrapped in your favorite blanket. Remember to smell and feel and appreciate everything going on around you. It’s okay to not work everyday. Just take it easy man.
