Canoe

It’s Thursday and we are back!!!! I’m really excited to be writing on Thursdays again. I loved podcasting and I will get back into it soon, but having to substitute writing with having to be on camera more than once a week, I’m okay with just writing. With that being said, it’s been a really long time since I’ve done one of my favorite things in writing and that’s write a review! So as the seasons change and people are getting to be more romantic and intimate with each other, I know a great place to eat!

As you all know, I recently celebrated a birthday. I was really set on just doing going out and having a good day. A couple of suggestions came that told us to go to a little restaurant called “Canoe”. I can definitely say that it was truly a fine dining experience. We made reservations and the whole night all of the staff addressed us by name, the food was incredible, and the service was really outstanding. On top of all that, the cost was reasonable.

They are fairly known for having some sort of exotic meat on the menu. When we went back at the end of September, the meat of the hour was a peppercorn crusted kangaroo appetizer. The foodie I am couldn’t resist! It was possibly the best thing I’ve ever tasted. That was just starting the night though. After both of us had an appetizer, entrée, drink, and dessert, we spent less than $150.

From the moment you pull up to the parking lot, you get a very intimate and sophisticated vibe. Walking into the establishment, the dim lights, light chatter, great smell, and friendly hostess greeted us at the door. We were seated in about 10 minutes and got the whole night to enjoy ourselves. Service was prompt and constant without being overbearing, the food was delicious and the vibes were perfect. I’ve had other fine dining experiences, but none of them as great as this one; it was truly a perfect way to celebrate and a great place for an intimate date night.
